You have used one for years. You have walked buy them a thousand times and never gave it a second thought. I'm talking about your oven. Unless you're actually using it, how often do you think about it? Not very, I'm assuming. We cook in them everyday but we know very little about them. You can find ovens in all shapes, and sizes.
Most homes have the conventional oven. They are pretty simple to use. Set your temperature, place your food inside the oven, and wait until it's done to remove the food. I personally have never walked into a home in the United States that didn't have one.
A convection oven is an oven that cooks with a fan moving heated air through out the oven which in turn cooks the food. These ovens have a higher price tag, and are cost efficient and most people say they cook better food. A lot of people prefer the convectional oven over the convention oven, but most homes still carry the convention oven.
Gas or electricity will be the two choices you have in how to heat these ovens. This is completely a personal decision. You will find some people that will not cook on anything other than gas, while some feel the same way about electric stoves. The cost is another way to choose between gas and electric ovens. Which is more cost efficient for you?
Most college students or single people that live in dorms or small homes prefer a toaster oven. This oven is a small oven that takes up very little room and runs off of electricity. You can cook small things in them like pizza, cheese toast, or even bagels. You will find that these ovens are quite convenient but do not plan a large meal while using one of these.
Now we are down to the microwave oven. If you do not have room for a regular stove then most people will use a microwave oven. Me personally, I have both, as do most people in the United States. This appliance became a must have for every home as soon as they hit the shelves years ago. You can reheat food, or even cook food in these ovens.
I have only given you a few of the ovens you have to choose from. You still have to consider if you prefer metal, ceramic, brick. You need to choose between small, large, tall, short. Search online and get an idea of what you are looking for and then get out there and buy it. When you get that new oven home, you can prepare a meal that will knock the socks off of the person eating it.
